What is i-Text?

i-Text is an online system for businesses to communicate by text message. It was created to give organizations a the chance to easily manage and send text messages to their customers without having to employ a specialist (and expensive) mobile marketing company.


How does i-Text work?

i-Text has been designed to be as simple as possible for you to use, with advanced features available when you require them.

Sending a message to your customers is a simple process:

• Collect (with their permission) customer names and mobile numbers ;
• Enter them into the i-Text address book;
• Buy the correct amount of credits to send the messages (1 credit = 1 message);
• Write a message;
• Pick the recipients - either individuals or groups of people;
• Press send.

What do I need to use i-Text?

i-Text is an online system, you only need to be able to connect to the internet. Currently i-Text is best viewed from a PC using Internet Explorer version 5 or above, and we are adding support for other browsers all the time.


What does SMS stand for?

Short Message Service. It is a standard feature of the GSM protocol (used by most mobile phone networks around the world), and allows messages of up to 160 characters to be sent to mobile phones.


How many 'credits' does one message cost?

1 Message = 1 Credit. Each message sent costs the same (1 credit), to any network.


What is the maximum length of an SMS message?

SMS messages may be up to 160 characters long.


How many mobile phone numbers can I send to in one 'batch' broadcast?

You can send as many messages as you like as long as you have enough credits available.


Can I send messages abroad?

Not at this time. i-Text is only available for message delivery in Canada and the United States.


Will the numbers I send be used by i-Text or any third parties?

All the numbers and messages that you send are treated in the strictest confidence. We will never use them or share the information with other companies.


Do I get notified when my credits are low?

Yes, you automatically receive an e-mail when 2 credits remain. You can change this to a higher or lower number if you wish.


Am I able to try the service before I buy some credits?

What format should mobile numbers be in?

Mobile numbers should be in International format without the leading '00' or '+'. For example, a Toronto number would be entered as: 14161234567.
